Full-time, permanent post

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Developer (Statistics) to join our friendly and collaborative learning development team at Lancaster University. The team has a central hub in the Library with bases in the four faculties. The successful candidate will oversee and contribute to maths and statistics support for undergraduate and postgraduate taught students in Lancaster University Management School (LUMS).

You will work under the guidance of the Maths and Stats Hub (MASH) Coordinator, teaching workshops, providing one-to-one advice, and overseeing the daily running of the Maths and Stats Hub in LUMS. You will collaborate with programme leads in selected disciplines to embed support workshops within the curriculum and contribute to the creation of interactive online learning resources. You will also collaborate on centrally organised activities, and the training and supervision of a team of Graduate Teaching Assistants who support MASH activity.

We are looking to recruit an individual with a postgraduate qualification in Statistics or related discipline, a teaching qualification and/or relevant experience of teaching maths and statistics in higher education. You will have knowledge of the maths and statistics challenges facing first year undergraduate students in a range of subjects such as Economics, Accounting and Finance and Management Science. You will also be able to demonstrate evidence of working in a collegiate and supportive way with colleagues and students from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds.

We will provide an inclusive, supportive and safe environment where everyone belongs and can contribute to our distinctiveness. We welcome applications from people in diverse groups, particularly encouraging applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University.

We are a Disability Confident employer and we work to ensure that reasonable adjustments are made for our colleagues to reduce barriers to inclusion at work.

We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. Consideration will be given to job share applications. We also provide a comprehensive set of staff benefits and development opportunities.
