The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a Lecturer, Computer and Data Science, to play a vital role in teaching, curriculum development, and ongoing scholarship for the Computer and Data Science courses at UAL Creative Computing Institute (CCI)

If you are an interdisciplinary academic with skills in the Computer and Data Science field, this role offers a fantastic platform to develop your career. Working collaboratively with a dedicated course team, you will deploy your specialist expertise for pedagogic and curriculum development in innovative and critical directions, with the aim of promoting diversity and inclusivity. You shall expand the capacity of the course design to meet the need to teach specialisms relevant to the mission of UAL Creative Computing Institute in areas related to Computer and Data Science.
You will be responsible for providing pastoral support, monitoring student progress and attendance and maintaining records. You will significantly contribute to the quality of learning and student support to ensure successful completion of their studies, whilst providing a high-quality student experience.
About you
You will possess a strong academic background, holding the relevant qualifications or equivalent relevant industry experience alongside significant knowledge of a specialism relevant to the mission of the UAL Creative Computing Institute in the field of Computer and Data Science. Previous teaching experience in Higher Education or a comparable context is required, along with knowledge of curriculum development and assessment.
You will be comfortable working with diverse cohorts of students and will be committed to a teaching approach that understands the range of students’ experiences within a course. Furthermore, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing your discipline through demonstrating evidence of relevant research, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice. Active participation in relevant networks and communities of practice within your subject and/or related fields is essential, as you will build networks of subject peers, partnerships and collaborations as well as foster inclusive and constructive teamwork and problem-solving.
