Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough Campus’Benefits: Teachers Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.About the role:We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling department at The Bedford College group.As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses from Level 1 to Level 5.
• Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
• Managing students’ learning and providing a high-quality learning experience.
• Contributing pro-actively to developments in the college and in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
• Teaching effectively on a range of programmes, levels and qualification types recognising and meeting students’ individual needs.
• Preparing schemes of work which are up to date and fully meet the requirements of awarding bodies.
• Researching, developing and effectively implementing new learning materials in a variety of media to engage students in learning.
• Assessing students’ work effectively to meet awarding body standards and carrying out verification and moderation.
• Monitoring and recording students’ progress and taking action to ensure students meet required standards and deadlines.
• Meeting assessment deadlines as set by the awarding body and the college
• Preparing a variety of reports and maintaining records on students’ progress and performance
• Participating in effective internal quality assurance and other quality procedures.
• Maintaining records on students’ progress and performance, communicating in a timely manner to the Course Manager, Centre Manager or Head of Department where there are issues / concerns.

About you:

• Hold a Health and Social Care related qualification at Level 3 and above or equivalent in related subject area
• Have English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent
• Hold a Certificate in Education
• Have vocational experience in Health and Social care
• Have knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area
• Possess the ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and work effectively to deadlines
• Possess the ability to achieve positive working relationships with staff cross-College
• Possess the ability to demonstrate commitment to own continuing professional development
• Have a flexible approach to work and working times
