Lecturer in Arthropod Genetics
Grade 7a-8 Salary Range £35,333 – 53,353

The School of Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Arthropod Genetics. The appointee will be expected to develop and maintain a leading research programme in Arthropod Genetics and contribute to teaching within the school.

We are looking for a researcher with a genuine love for knowledge discovery, capacity for innovation, and strong collaborative ethic. This is a permanent position in which the successful candidate would be supported to develop their research, therefore the post would suit an early career academic able to demonstrate their potential for developing and leading a research programme. This research will be internationally competitive, attract external funding, and generate impact in the field of infectious diseases. It is our expectation that you will qualify for inclusion in future Research Excellence Framework submissions in the UK. In addition the successful candidate will contribute to teaching within the School. In order to achieve this you will be able to incorporate your knowledge and experience of infectious diseases into exciting learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

You should have a Ph.D. in an appropriate field and a track record of academic achievement that is commensurate with experience. We are particularly looking for researchers that can strengthen our existing research programmes, and develop inter-disciplinary research opportunities with the School.
