With over 35,000 students, GBS continues to grow and evolve, aiming to transform lives through education.We are currently seeking full-time Lecturers to teach across a range of levels and we require flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and weekends.Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.As a Lecturer in Construction Management at Global Banking School, you will educate and inspire students in the principles and practices of construction management, including the legal, environmental and technological context of today’s construction industry. You will deliver comprehensive course materials, oversee all aspects of student work and understand and keep up to date with student support practices.Responsibilities include:

• All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met
• Develop, update, and improve course materials as appropriate
• Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials including live online learning
• To be actively involved in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties
• Understand and keep up to date with student support practices
• Work towards meeting a range of clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, student satisfaction, retention and attendance

Essential:

• A Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)
• Previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area
• Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter
• Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback
• Attention to detail, accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organised student records
• Experience supporting learners both online and face to face.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people

Desirable:

• Knowledge and a track record of teaching Construction Management with a specific focus on Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital technologies relevant to construction OR relevant professional experience.
• Experience in facilitating Computer Aided Design (CAD) workshops
• A Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent)
• Experience of design / development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent
• Full membership of CIOB or an equivalent body
