We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Engineering Management to join the School of Engineering at UWE Bristol.
About us: You will be joining a growing and ambitious department that values the integration of research and practice-led materials within teaching and learning very highly. You will have the opportunity to contribute to developing the curriculum. UWE graduates already have a high rate of graduate employment but we are aiming to take this even higher through greater interaction between industry, research and education – you can be part of this journey. You will become part of a dynamic team of research active teaching staff within the department and have an opportunity to link with existing projects and bidding activities with the support of senior staff.
In achieving high academic standing, reputation and currency, all Bristol UWE academics are expected to develop their careers in a combination of learning and teaching, research, scholarly and/or practice activity, knowledge exchange and external engagement alongside academic leadership and citizenship demonstrating UWE Bristol Values in all activities.
About you:
We require candidates that have a broad set of skills and can teach across the main themes Engineering Management, such as: project management, operations management, process design and leadership. We also value candidates that have a strong professional skill set and expertise in emerging technologies and digital transformation that can help develop students on our engineering programmes.
The successful applicant will have a post graduate qualification in Engineering Management or a related discipline. If from a professional practice/industry background, the successful applicant will have a qualification equivalent to degree level (or above) together with relevant professional experience within the Engineering Sector. A teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education is desirable. Experience of working in or collaborating with relevant industry is desirable and there will be opportunities to work with industry on knowledge exchange projects. A portfolio of research related to sustainable technologies and in line with the universities ethics is desirable.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
