Lecturer in Peace Studies and International Development


The Department of Peace Studies and International Development (PSID) are looking for talented, innovative, and research active individuals to join our dedicated and collaborative academic team.  

The Department is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in research, teaching and external and policy engagement on issues of peace, conflict, and development. The programmes and the staff are multi-disciplinary and we welcome applicants who have experience and relevant and growing track record of research and teaching in at least one of the following three areas: 

  • International and regional studies and/or security studies
  • Sustainable development and development studies, including from social, political, governance or anthropological perspectives.
  • Peace – conflict – environment – technology- development nexus issues (a combination of any of these) in developing, fragile or conflict affected areas.

This is an exciting year to be joining the Department as we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the founding of Peace Studies in Bradford. The Department has an excellent track record in research and impact nationally and internationally. Teaching in the department has been consistently rated as being outstanding including through case studies, practical and policy based and applied analysis and a range of co-curricular activities.
