About the Role
The School of Politics and International Relations is pleased to announce that we are seeking an exceptional scholar to take up the position of Lecturer in Sociology.
The postholder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School, Faculty and University, and the wider research field of Sociology. They will work with a diverse community of colleagues and students to deliver excellent teaching and research in the field of Sociology.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Sociology or related discipline. You will have a developing reputation for internationally excellent research and high-quality publications. We welcome applicants from all areas of the discipline but would particularly welcome applicants working in the sociology of methods, digital sociology, and creative practices. You will contribute to teaching and help develop our Sociology joint honors programme, offer research supervision, and contribute more broadly to teaching and research within the School. In particular you will convene a new second year introduction to social science methodologies module. You will have an understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in teaching a diverse student cohort.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time permanent appointment with an expected start date of 1st September 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £45931 – £56,921 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
