These posts offer an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and innovative teaching team in the Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems, which is internationally recognized for excellence in applied public health research and health inequalities, a shared concern for health equity being a defining ethos.
We are seeking to recruit two Lecturers or a Senior Lecturers (grade depending on skills, qualifications and experience) who can bring Social Science expertise as applied to Public Health to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Applicants with expertise in sociology, psychology, social epidemiology, anthropology, or social geography are particularly encouraged to apply.
You will have experience contributing to programmes delivered at all levels, including PGT. You should have demonstrated skills in the delivery of modules and be able to work independently to deliver agreed plans and priorities. You should be conversant with external regulatory and professional accreditation processes, as well as more local quality assurance processes. Relevant research outputs of national standing and/or similar attainments in scholarly or pedagogical research should also be in evidence. You will have a PHD in a relevant subject.
You will contribute fully to our overall purpose, which is to provide training and produce evidence to build policies and actions that improve health and reduce health inequalities.
These posts are full-time and permanent on the Teaching and Scholarship pathway, following successfully completing a probationary period where required. You will be expected to carry out the normal duties of a University Lecturer/Senior Lecturer regarding research, teaching, leadership and administration, with a special emphasis on tackling health inequalities through action on the social determinants of health.
