As part of the DHL Group, you will be working with a global network of Legal colleagues and benefit from a wide range of development opportunities.Job Purpose:As a Legal Counsel at DHL, your primary objective is to implement legal processes and procedures aimed at identifying and mitigating legal risks while safeguarding the organization’s legal and business interests. This involves ensuring compliance with established legal frameworks, standards, and applicable laws and regulations, while also providing comprehensive legal services to internal clients.Your tasks:

• Offer a comprehensive range of legal services to all business units and internal stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of the country legal strategy to ensure consistency and effective utilization of resources.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks through the implementation of robust processes and procedures aligned with business needs and legal requirements.
• Ensure compliance of current and proposed business activities, policies, and transactions with relevant laws and regulations.
• Provide recommendations on addressing legal issues and proposed changes in laws and regulations.
• Conduct extensive analysis of contracts and other legal documents related to various business matters to protect the organization’s interests.
• Serve as a liaison in complex legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities.
• Review materials for external legal counsel to ensure preparedness for legal proceedings.
• Deliver legal training courses on relevant topics to enhance legal awareness within the organization.
• Support other corporate functions such as Compliance, Global Trade Law Office, and Data Protection in achieving their objectives through legal expertise.

Your profile:

• Possess a Master’s degree in Dutch law.
• Have 4-8 years of relevant experience in legal practice, including experience in commercial contracting
• Experience in logistics is an advantage, but not a must-have
• Demonstrated ability to manage legal risks and provide sound legal advice.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret complex legal documents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of working effectively in a dynamic and diverse environment.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and levels within the organization.
