Leisure Club Duty Manager – OspreyThe HotelThe Osprey Hotel is a 4-star luxury urban retreat in the heart of Naas town, Co Kildare and is 35 minutes from Dublin City. The hotel is comprised of 108 luxurious guest rooms with custom furnishings. It is designed by one of Ireland’s most respected architects Hugh Wallace who featured as a judge on RTE s Home of the Year . The fantastic leisure centre and spa has a 20-metre deck level pool, sauna, steam room and gym equipped with the latest cardio and resistance equipment. The gorgeous Herald & Devoy Restaurant which opened in 2018 was also designed by Hugh Wallace and is tailored to suit all palettes and dietary requirements. The Osprey Bar offers carvery lunch and an extensive bar menu which can also be enjoyed in the outdoor courtyard on a sunny day. It also hosts some of the best live music on Fridays and Saturdays.Your New RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Leisure Club Duty Manager to assist the management team in the efficient running of the Leisure Club. You must have good attention to detail with the ability to make decisions and think on your feet. You will need a solid understanding of Leisure Club operations and be able to work on your own initiative. The successful candidate will have experience working in fitness industry with excellent customer service skills, positive attitude and be able to work as part of a team. Responsible for overseeing the member and guest experiences of our fitness and leisure offering.About the roleResponsibilities and duties for this role will include:You will be responsible for overseeing the member and guest experiences of our fitness and leisure offering.Instruct or coach groups or individuals in exercise activities and the fundamentals of sports. Demonstrate techniques and methods of participation. Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary to improve their skills.Pool Supervision.Enforce fitness center policies and procedures.Educate participants on proper and safe exercise form.Carry Out fitness assessment and body composition screenings.Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations within the leisure ClubOffer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants’ capabilities and limitations.Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement.Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion.Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels in order to maximize benefits from exercise routines.Teach and demonstrate use of training equipment such as weights etc.Maintain fitness equipment.Cleaning and tidying all areas and facilities, including pool areas, changing rooms and toilets.Swimming pool maintenance and safety.Monitor participants’ progress and adapt programs as neededEvaluate individuals’ abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.Advise clients about proper clothing and shoes.Promote health clubs through membership sales, and record member information.Supervision of Leisure Club staff and providing training to new and existing team membersTo deal with any guest complaints, queries and suggestions quickly and efficiently.To take sole responsibility for the Leisure Club during your working shift, this will include delegating tasks to team members team.Requirements:Previous experience in a similar rolePool Plant experience required.NCEF qualification or the equivalent is essential.Pool/ life guard certification and First Aid is an advantageGood communication skills, and fluency in English.Friendly and outgoing.Ability to work as part of a team, and a desire to progress in your career.Swim teacher qualification would be an advantage.Why Work With Us?We offer a variety of roster options which can be tailored to suit a positive work life balance.   • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Pool Plant experience required.
  • NCEF qualification or the equivalent is essential.
