Our library vision, The Library Towards 2025, sets out our ambition to be a library that is connected, that goes beyond providing just a service and building, and works in partnership with all Lancaster University communities.  Central to this vision is the work of the Library Teaching and Engagement team, who are the interface between the faculties, departments and the library, and who engage with the wider community, developing partnerships with local schools, colleges and community groups.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the Library Teaching and Engagement team within Academic Services. You will support the activity of the team, working alongside the Head of Library Engagement and the wider team which includes Faculty Librarians, an Information Specialist, Digital Skills Learning Developer and Schools Engagement Officer, through:

Providing adminstrative support for the team, which includes adminstering two programmes: Library & Information Literacy Programme and the Systematic Review Conversation series;

Promoting and marketing Library Teaching and Engagement events and resources through membership of the Library Social Media team;

Developing and maintaining online guidance including the Library website, student portal, Library subject and topic guides;

Assisting in the delivery of workshops.

The University strives to be diverse and inclusive, a place where we can all be ourselves.  We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups for this indefinite post working 1.0 FTE.

We offer family-friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff.  There is flexibility to work some of your time remotely, with the exact proportion of remote working to be determined in discussion with the line manager and in accordance with university guidelines.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be addressed to Lesley English, Head of Library Engagement at [email protected]
