1Job Title: Local Police Coordinator (LPC) Operation JigsawSalary: The starting salary is £33,348, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.The salary is broken down as £30,507 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £32,639 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.Location: Plumstead, BrixtonThe Met specialist Jigsaw team have exciting Band E opportunities to join our team as a Local Police Coordinator (LPC). This role will allow the successful candidate to work in a unique and challenging area of policing that encompasses robust management of Registered Sex Offenders.The successful applicants will, in line with Home Office SOPS for Operation JIGSAW, support the offender managers and supervisors within the BCU Jigsaw teams to monitor all Registered Sex Offenders, Unregistered Sex Offenders and Potentially Dangerous Offenders in order to lower risk to the public.You will work as part of a team within the Public Protection – Operation Jigsaw units: Plumstead – SE and Brixton – ASYour working hours will primarily be Monday – Friday. 8.00 – 16.00. Local variations to this may be required, due to business needs/demand.Key Responsibilities:

  • Create files on all new subjects, including Management Forms, Court Documentation, Risk, Sex Offender Registration forms. Maintain hard-copy files on all active subjects.
  • Liaison by telephone or in person with offenders, courts, police personnel and partner agencies.
  • Complete address suitability requests for offenders on and off BCU.
  • Respond to Probation information sharing requests.
  • When new subjects come to notice carry out research using following Databases: PNC/IIP/PND/Merlin/CRIS/CRIMINT Plus/ViSOR/Custody Imaging/General Registry
  • Manage and allocate tasking to offender managers.
  • Maintain and update the unit electronic mailboxes. Respond to enquiries and solving queries. Passing information to the relevant offender managers.
  • Storing relevant court documentation and registration forms within the mailbox and ViSOR database.
  • Create ViSOR records for all new registered sexual offenders. Compilation of statistics within ViSOR.
  • Maintain and update records for sexual, violent/dangerous offenders. Check SOP compliance for transfers.
  • Liaison and transfer package compilation for offenders moving off BCU.
  • Inputting registration forms onto the visor database. Notifying PNC of registration dates and changes to requirements.
  • Archiving of records once registration period has ended.

  • ViSOR trained or willingness to complete ViSOR course.
  • MOSOVO trained or willingness to complete MOSOVO course.
  • Competent on PNC, IIP, PND, Crimint, Custody Imaging, CRIS, MERLIN, EWMS.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous safeguarding experience.
  • Previous Partnership working.
