About our Organisation
The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of
human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues
We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we
support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn’t do any of this without
our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world
where it’s needed the most.
About the Opportunity
Soil Association Food for Life (FFL) is an exciting and fast-growing programme that is about
making good food the easy choice for everyone and reconnecting people with where their food
comes from. We work with schools, early years settings, caterers, communities and whole places,
helping them raise food standards and build food knowledge and skills through a ‘whole setting
approach’. Lancashire County Council Public Health department has commissioned Food for Life to
deliver an ambitious two-year programme to work with schools, early years settings and
community groups to embed the Food for Life approach to good food across the county and drive
positive outcomes for public health, the local economy and the environment.
You will have experience of leading and inspiring change and substantial project/programme
management experience, including: delivering to targets; risk management and adaptation;
managing the contribution of others to your project; and adhering to budgets and deadlines. You
will be passionate about what is on your plate with a desire to share that passion and your
wealth of information with other people so they can make informed choices that benefit
themselves, the local economy and the planet.
You will need a full driving license and must be able to travel to locations within Lancashire.
