We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 0900 – 1700NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde are looking for a Medical Secretary to join the Pathology administration and clerical team at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Reporting to the Office Manager, the post holder will type pathology and post mortem reports. Deal with telephone enquiries for consultant and/or associated clinical staff, relaying the required information. The post holder will also book andrology appointments over the phone. The post holder will be required to take minutes at department meetings in the absence of the Deputy Office Manager. Part of the role will include sending blocks and slides to other laboratories for opinion or as part of a clinical trial. Applicants must have a HNC in Secretarial Studies/Business administration or equivalent demonstrable knowledge, advanced keyboard skills, audio typing experience and knowledge of medical terminology. Experience of minute taking is also required.
