Offer Description

To conduct reserch work on the modeling of thermoelectric convection in dielectric liquids in rectangaular and annular cavities under microgravity or in the presence of the Earth gravity.

The research activities will consist in
– recent bibliography on thermoelectric convection in dielectric liquids using the already available work performed in LOMC,
– acquaintance with the simulation code developed in the LOMC for DNS on regional computing centre (CRIANN)
– make regular reports in the research team
-write reports and articles for scientific journals

The research work will be performed in project team “Instabilities and Transition to Turbulence ” of the LOMC. The hired person will be easily integrated in different networks on Physics under micrgravity (GdR MFA, PHC-STAR prgram, projects with the Brandenburg University of Technology) in which the team is strongly involved.

Eligibility criteria

The hired person might hold a PhD in Physics or Energetic Engineering, with specific deep knolwedges in general Physics (electromagnetism,thermodynamics, hydrodynamics, heat transfer) and a good acquantance of direct numerical simulations. A very good level of English is strongly reommended.
