INFO-SESSION ON THE VACANCY AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Some interns and/or former interns will also share their experience of the programme with the audience.Please register using the following link:The Office of Financial Control (OFC) manages financial and budgetary systems for NATO, focusing on the NATO International Staff Civil Budget and the stewardship of member Nations’ funds. OFC provides essential financial and procurement services to support front-line Divisions in achieving their objectives while ensuring compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). Responsibilities include procurement, financial operations, budgeting, and reporting for NATO budgets, pensions, and additional projects, as well as cash management and accounting support for extra budgetary funds and bilateral arrangements. The OFC operates through five key functions, led by a Front Office team:

• Budget, Planning and Analysis and Procurement;
• Control, Accounting and Finance including Missions (Duty Travels);
• Treasury;
• Strategic Analysis and Reporting (SAR); and
• ERP Competency Centre.

How the daily work will look like?Being an Intern with the OFC entails working closely with colleagues from different finance, budget planning, analysis, and procurement-related services and gaining insight into the budget implementation, reporting, and treasury as well as internal control services. For interns with financial backgrounds, their daily responsibilities could also be extended to providing support to financial operations where possible and relevant work strands. They will attend meetings and working groups and support OFC in a variety of activities. In addition, they will have the opportunity to carry out research for best practices in a variety of budget, finance, and procurement-related areas, particularly in relation to reporting and information knowledge management.What do we offer?

• 6-month traineeship at NATO Headquarters, in Brussels, starting in March / September 2026.

The candidate must: * be a national of a NATO member state,

• be at least 21 years old,
• have at least two years of university level studies OR equivalent education OR be currently a student OR a recent graduate (degree obtained no longer than 12 months ago),
• have proficiency in one of the two official NATO languages (English/French).

Desirable:
The following criteria will be considered an advantage: * Bachelor’s degree or in the final stage of a Master’s degree relevant to the requested area of expertise,

• elementary knowledge of the second official NATO language (English/French),
• be an advanced user of IT tools including Microsoft Office, SharePoint;
• previous experience with other international organizations, national administration, research or industry.
