*University status awarded in or after 1992

The University of West London is a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of creative, business and service professionals.

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative children’s nursing educator to join our team of dedicated academics to support the delivery of courses in nursing and healthcare at UG level.

The academic team, together with the support of administrative and technical staff, deliver programmes to student nurses and nursing associates across our London and Reading campuses. Essential to this position will be the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with healthcare providers in Berkshire, Central and North West London and West London.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and clinical experience in the specialist area of children’s nursing. An excellent appreciation of the NMC (2018) Future Nurse: Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses is essential. Candidates should demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, other academics, clinical practitioners, and with our support and technical staff. You will be expected to assist in the development and delivery of learning materials that are relevant, evidence-based and current, in order to maintain the high quality of learning and teaching associated with the college.

Applicants must be registered with the NMC as a children’s nurse, hold a first degree in a relevant subject and ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification for Higher Education. For successful applicants without relevant teaching qualifications then they will join the UWL Academic Professional degree apprenticeship scheme supporting the UK government’s commitment to upskill the UK workforce.

If you wish to influence nursing and healthcare through high quality education and embed your clinical knowledge and experience of healthcare within higher education, this could be the opportunity for you.

An enhanced DBS Certificate is required for this post (to be undertaken upon appointment).
