We are pleased to offer a static Band 6 post in the Right Bed First Time Team (RBFT ) in Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Service. This is a fast paced team providing occupational therapy intervention for admission avoidance and early discharge home.Our team is friendly and supportive in medicine and also the wider occupational therapy service. The service is busy with opportunity to be proactive and deliver the Right Care at the Right Time in the Right Place.Main duties of the jobThe Medicine static posts further develop your leadership and management skills within a team. You will have opportunity to consolidate clinical skills, build experience and invest in quality improvement developments.You will receive induction/training and supervision and be supported in your development underpinned by the RCOT Pillars of Practice and Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan 2024-2026. You will practice occupationally focused intervention, delivering outcomes that matter to people using evidence based practice and research.Opportunities for development of supervisory skills will be available and engagement in service development/improvement projects and role promotion encouraged. • Will hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy at degree level or equivalent
• Holds professional registration as awarded by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Evidence of recent learning and continued professional development at a higher level

• Practice Educator Training Qualification

ExperienceEssential

• Have sufficient experience that includes experience in at least 2 discrete service areas
• Experience of working in the NHS
• Managing a caseload
• Inter-professional and multi-agency team working
• Direct involvement with carers and families.

SkillsEssential

• Autonomous practitioner with self management skills
• Planning and prioritisation of workload
• Ability to support and supervise others (formally responsible for supervising Band 5 and Support Staff)
• Mechanisms of audit and research methodology
• Knowledge of current healthcare policies and application
