Occupational Therapist – Mental Health In Patient service

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.This is a permanent full-time position.The shift pattern for this position is Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm.This permanent post and will be based within the Occupational Therapy Department at Gartnavel Royal Hospital and within the Rehabilitation and Hospital Based Complex Care service.The post holder will provide occupational therapy assessments and a range of therapeutic occupation focussed interventions with patients alongside the Band 6 Occupational Therapist and OT Support Worker based in this service. The post holder will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and adapt accordingly.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with other disciplines, relatives, carers and partner organisations is essential to this post. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise occupational therapy support staff.The service provides regular supervision and opportunities for continuous professional development.
