The Ocean and Engagement team at the Ocean Conservation Trust is looking to recruit two new
members of staff to join our Ocean Discovery Rangers.
As an Ocean Discovery Ranger your key role is to interact with the public and communities both
at our hub the National Marine Aquarium and through our many ocean discovery activities and
events. Your aim will be to contribute to our behaviour change programme promoting ocean
conservation action though fun and engaging experiences.
We are looking for applicants with a knowledge/interest and enthusiasm for marine wildlife and
conservation. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will work well
as part of a team. You will have experience working with children, young people and/or adults
in an informal or formal educational setting with excellent organisation and time management
skills.
We have two permanent positions available:
- 12 hours per week, working Saturdays and Sundays and
- 24 hours per week, working a shift pattern of 4 days per week
The rate of pay is £10.42 per hour. You must be able to demonstrate flexibility in work pattern
as some evening shifts will be required to run our public engagement evenings.
