EIA is seeking an Oceans Project Officer (Plastic and Marine Wildlife Campaigns) to join a
fast-paced team that is currently spilt into two programmes – marine wildlife and plastics. The
role is spilt approx. 80% on the plastics programme and 20% on marine wildlife. The work covers
issues from the negotiations towards a new plastics treaty to investigations into the plastic
waste and fish maw trades, as well as national and regional policy and advocacy. The work of
the team is international and technical in scope and brings in campaigning and legal experts as
well as working closely with other teams, such as intelligence and investigations.
Role purpose:
This role will provide support to ensure efficient implementation of the Ocean campaign
strategies. The position is dynamic and requires coordination across both internal teams and
external partners, as well as a strong grasp on financial and administrative skills. The role
will have responsibility for supporting all of the varied administrative, financial and project
management needs for implementation of the campaigns.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have experience of financial and grant management and excellent
organisational and time management skills, ideally with some project management experience.
Good oral and written communication skills, including knowledge and experience of key social
media platforms is essential. An ability to prepare accurate, relevant and clearly presented
financial and narrative reports as well we the ability to articulate financial concepts is also
required.
What we offer:
This is a full-time permanent position.
You will receive a salary of £35,000 – £37,000 per annum (pro rata) dependent on experience.

and tigers, and forest crimes such as illegal logging and deforestation for cash crops like
palm oil. We work to safeguard global marine ecosystems by addressing the threats posed by
plastic pollution, bycatch and commercial exploitation of whales, dolphins and porpoises.
Finally, we reduce the impact of climate change by campaigning to eliminate powerful
refrigerant greenhouse gases, exposing related illicit trade and improving energy efficiency in
the cooling sector.

Contract: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £35,000 – £37,000 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience
Hours: 40 (including lunch breaks)
Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holiday and days off between Xmas and New Year (pro rata)
and an additional day off per year up to a max of 29 days, mental health and wellbeing support
programme, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, enhanced pension contributions, free
