📅 Contract Type: Full-time contract – internship. Immediate start – until October 8, 2025.

Our People Department focuses on recruiting and ensuring the well-being of a diverse, skilled, and motivated team that supports the success of the sailing race and its sustainability projects.This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in HR administration, as well as an excellent opportunity for an HR student to start their career in an entry-level role within an international sporting event. The People Coordinator / HR Intern will gain exposure to various areas of human resources while taking on key responsibilities in administrative HR work.Your RoleAs a People Coordinator / HR Intern, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth HR administration and workforce logistics while supporting the People Department in shaping The Ocean Race’s HR strategy. You will work closely with our labor advisors, managing employment contracts, payroll, and compliance while also contributing to employee engagement, recruitment, and well-being initiatives.Key Responsibilities✅ HR Administration & Compliance

  • Act as the main point of contact with labor advisors (“asesoría”), ensuring compliance with Spanish labor law.
  • Preparation of job offers, employment contracts and service agreements.
  • Manage payroll processes and taxes.
  • Oversee the People software, handling absences, time registration, and workforce data.
  • Ensure compliance with labor risk prevention regulations.
  • Participate in labor relations and legal aspects of employment.

✅ Recruitment & Employee Experience

  • Participate in recruitment efforts, including job posting and candidate screening.
  • Draft and publish job advertise.
  • Implementation of the onboarding program for new employees.
  • Contribute to the creation of the Employee Handbook and HR policies.

✅ People Logistics & Event Support

  • Assist with travel coordination and logistical arrangements.
  • Manage uniform distribution.

✅ Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support the design of team-building activities and events.
  • Foster a positive work environment and take care of The Ocean Race Family.

✅ General Support & Event Contribution

  • Assist colleagues in the production and success of The Ocean Race event.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives, reflecting The Ocean Race’s commitment to ocean conservation.

  • HR studies or experience in an HR department or labor advisory firm.
  • Knowledge of Spanish labor law.
  • Fluent English & Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Communication & interpersonal skills with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Stress management & adaptability in fast-paced environments.

🎯 Additional Considerations

  • Must live in or be able to relocate to Alicante, Spain.
  • EU national or ability to obtain necessary EU working permits.
