Work in the “Molecular Physiopathology of the Adrenal and Endocrine Tissues” team headed by Antoine Martinez and Pierre Val
As part of the ANR “ADD-SEX” project obtained this year in collaboration with Andreas Schedl (iBV), we are looking for a student to carry out a thesis from October/November within our “Physiopathologie Moléculaire de la Surrénale et des Tissus Endocrines” team in Clermont-Fd (UMR6293, iGReD) directed by A. Martinez and P. Val. We aim to understand the influence of sex, and in particular sex steroids, on the functional homeostasis of the adrenal cortex and on the onset of its pathologies, which mainly affect women. Using the mouse as a study model, this project aims to explore the role of the androgen receptor and other transcription factors in chromatin dynamics, leading to a sex-specific genetic program capable of explaining sexual differences in stress response and the over-representation of females in adrenal cortical pathologies. The techniques used will be based on genetic, histological, molecular and epigenomic tools.
