Job Description:A PhD position in inorganic chemistry is currently available at the Department of .Project Background
Today, catalysts are at some point involved in the manufacture of ~80% of all goods. The urgent need to transition away from fossil-fuel dependent technologies demands new catalysts.This project will focus on the design and synthesis of new metal-organic network structures featuring low-valent metal- or metal cluster-nodes. These nodes will be inspired by organometallic species and will serve as well-defined active-sites for catalysis in crystalline, solid-state materials. Thorough characterisation of the atomic and electronic structures will be crucial to our ability to unravel how structure influences catalytic performance (activity, selectivity and stability).Qualifications
The successful candidate will have experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry. Hands-on experience with air- and moisture-sensitive synthetic techniques is strongly desired. In addition, experience in any of the following methods will be advantageous: Single-crystal crystallography, Powder X-ray diffraction, NMR, UV-vis, IR and Luminescence spectroscopy, electrochemistry, X-ray absorption spectroscopy.The candidate will hold a M.Sc. in chemistry. We expect good interpersonal and communication (English) for effective teamwork across disciplines.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three (students who have completed their MSc) or four years (students who have not yet completed their MSc)The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
