Job Description:at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, invites applications for a PhD position in operator algebras with a focus on the structure and classification of C*-dynamical systems.The starting date is July 1, 2025 (or nearby date). We are looking for a highly motivated student with a general interest in operator algebras and/or non-commutative geometry. The student is expected to hold a master’s degree in mathematics by the starting date for the position (July 1, 2025) and have a solid background within functional analysis and an interest in working within the field of operator algebras.The position is associated with the Semper Ardens: Accelerate grant “ ” funded by the Carlsberg Foundation and held by Jamie Gabe.Fluency in English is required.About the Workgroup
The PhD student will belong to the within the Topology, Analysis, Algebra, and Geometry ( ) research section. The Operator Algebra group boasts several permanent faculty members working in operator algebras and noncommutative geometry. The TAAG section conducts research within a broad spectrum of pure mathematics, and the section has close ties with SDU’s Center for Quantum Mathematics.About the Department and the University
