Policies & Transaction Consultant (Energy Focus)
DNV is seeking a highly motivated Consultant with experience in Energy Markets, Hydrogen/Ammonia/Methanol & Decarbonization activities. The role is within the Energy Markets and Transactions section in France (Paris Office), part of an international team covering Latin America, Southern Europe, Middle East & Africa. The successful candidate will have keen interest in the Energy Advisory field. Additionally, the candidate shall have keen interest in how new technologies translate into policies or techno-economic models to facilitate the energy transition.

The role may require international travel (less 20% of time)
Responsibilities will include:

Conduct green hydrogen/ green ammonia / methanol market pre-feasibility assessments and market entry studies from bid execution until project closure.

Conduct technical due diligences on Green Fuels, Electric Vehicles, Energy Storage & Power Generation (waste to energy, biogas, biomass, hydropower, CCGT…) from bid execution until project closure.

Support on the design of decarbonization strategies and roadmaps, including policy white papers, government procedures and monitoring tools.

Building new business models in emerging markets, to enable local energy transition frameworks.

Support customer engagement through attending related conferences and focus groups.

Support senior consultants in designing and implementing programs related to energy transition topics such as GHG footprint, energy management, waste to energy.

Review of financial models for business plans or transactions related to energy transition.
Qualified consultants shall have:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in a relevant discipline (industrial, chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering, energy policies & strategy background,…) from an accredited university

A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in consulting or project management
-
Experience in hydrogen/Ammonia/Methanol, greenhouse gases and/or the wider decarbonatization arena e.g. CCS, renewables is a must.

Strategic mindset coupled with understanding of policy/regulatory frameworks.

Understanding of the energy/oil & gas nexus (economics, interfaces, risks, commercial aspects, tendencies…)

Proactive, hardwork, resilient, dynamic and forthcoming attitude

High-level of comfort and proficiency in presentations and workshops
-
Good writing and communication skills with an eye for analytical and persuasive presentations
-
Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis capability, including advanced knowledge of Excel and equivalent tools.

Advance knowledge of financial modeling with excel
-
Experience in negotiating / managing complex contracts & proposals

Fluency in English & French. Spanish or Arabic would be a plus
