Policy Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic policy person to play a key role in our small
but influential team campaigning on aviation’s impacts for people and the environment. 

AEF is a not-for-profit organisation funded partly by charitable trusts and philanthropic
organisations, and partly by our membership, which includes community organisations and
individuals from across the UK. We provide a widely-respected voice for people impacted by – or
concerned about – aircraft noise and the impact of flying on climate change, and we work with
policy-makers, politicians, environmental organisations and the UN making the case for measures
to reign in the environmental damage caused by aviation. We shine a light on false claims and
advocate for real solutions including the need for behaviour change (less flying) and new
technologies. 

Our Policy Manager will, together with the Director, lead AEF’s policy and campaigns work, with
a particular focus on climate policy, helping to deliver existing grant commitments to and to
develop new grant proposals. The successful candidate will join a friendly team who split their
time between working from home and the office base at London Bridge. The ability to take part
in external meetings (held largely in London) as required, is essential.
