Post-Doc (M/F) CMB/LSS Cross-Correlations with Euclid
Offer DescriptionThe successful applicant will participate in the analysis of Euclid DR1 data and the exploitation of cross-correlations between the satellite’s photometric data and CMB lensing observations. This work will be carried out within the Large Scale Structures and Cosmology scientific group and the Euclid team. The postdoctoral researcher will work specifically on the validation of measurements, their statistical characterization, and the cosmological exploitation of the results. The postdoctoral researcher will work specifically on the validation of measurements, their statistical characterization, and the cosmological exploitation of the results. They will benefit from privileged access to Euclid data, SPT-3G data, and the expertise of the IAP teams on Planck, SPT-3G, and Euclid data. The IAP is a significant member of the Euclid consortium. It hosts the Lead of the consortium (Y. Mellier) and is responsible for the analysis and simulation of data from the VIS visible camera, the primary source of photometric data for the mission. In terms of scientific analysis, the laboratory is involved in the cosmological analysis of both clustering and photometric data, as well as several “Legacy” astrophysical analyses (galaxy clusters, galaxy formation and archaeology, exoplanet research). It employs various analysis methods, including “forward” methods using advanced statistical techniques and AI with the help of applied mathematicians present in the laboratory. The laboratory is also a specialist of CMB. It was responsible for the analysis of Planck, including cosmological analysis and the measurement of lensing, and is currently in charge of the analysis of several surveys conducted with the South Pole Telescope SPT-3G.The candidate will be supervised by K. Benabed, co-lead of the group responsible for organizing the measurement of cross-correlations for the first Euclid data release (DR1). K. Benabed also led the first measurement of gravitational lensing effects on the CMB with Planck and is currently a member of the team working on SPT-3G data.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Astronomy Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Astronomy Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Astronomy Education Level PhD or equivalentLanguages FRENCH Level BasicResearch Field Astronomy Years of Research Experience NoneResearch Field Astronomy » Astrophysics Years of Research Experience NoneResearch Field Astronomy » Cosmology Years of Research Experience NoneAdditional InformationEligibility criteriaKnowledge:
