Offer DescriptionApplications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Civil Engineering.Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a full-time 10 month fixed-term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in structural engineering with Dr Daniel McCrum and Dr Elizabeth Shotton.This project was funded by the SFI-Defence Organisation Innovation Challenge call and is in collaboration with the Irish Dept. of Defence and Defence Forces. The Modular Adaptable SHelter (MASH) project will develop rapidly deployable shelters that will meet the operational needs of the Irish Defence Forces and also create a temporary emergency housing solution through the alternative use of existing shelter concepts with innovative design for manufacture and assembly, modern methods of construction and design for disassembly construction techniques. MASH will significantly impact on defence forces mobility and responsiveness, as well as providing safe, comfortable and durable temporary accommodation.Salary Range for PD1: €44,847 – €51,313 Per AnnumFixed Salary for PD2: €52,715 Per AnnumAppointment in the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on the 18th of January 2025.Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
