Job description

Offer DescriptionThe destabilization of several high-altitude buildings in recent years (bivouacs and ski lifts) demonstrates that mountain
environments are out of balance. The SHINE TATOO project, primarily experimental, aims to understand the mechanisms of
permafrost degradation and their impact on rock stability in high mountains, in a context of climate change. It also focuses on
the study of building materials subject to freeze/thaw cycles, with direct implications for the sustainability of alpine
infrastructure and the search for building materials better adapted to climate change.1. Laboratory Experiments:

  • Conducting uniaxial deformation tests on permafrost samples and building materials frozen in a cold chamber.
  • Analyzing the impact of freeze/thaw cycles on the samples (variations in mechanical properties, progressive

damage).
2. Fieldwork: participating in sampling campaigns in high mountains.
3. Scientific Promotion and Training:

  • Writing scientific publications and participating in international conferences.
  • Supervising Master’s students on projects related to experimental equipment.
