Offer DescriptionPost-doctoral Position In Medical Image ProcessingThe Computer-Assisted Medical Interventions (CAMI) team at the TIMC laboratory (Grenoble, France) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in medical image processing-particularly registration and segmentation-and proven experience in deep learning, with a focus on ultrasound imaging.Prostate cancer diagnosis relies on prostate biopsies, but accurate navigation and targeting during the procedure are challenged by ultrasound imaging limitations, as well as movement or deformation of the prostate. Current clinical navigation systems use MRI-ultrasound fusion, which depends on accurate segmentation in both modalities. However, segmentation quality can vary due to image complexity and practitioner expertise, affecting diagnostic precision and treatment decisions.Within a collaborative project involving researchers, clinicians, and industry partners, the team has developed innovative deep learning-based segmentation methods and built multi-expert segmentation databases. The postdoctoral fellow will focus on integrating segmentation variability into deep learning models, with the goal of assessing prediction reliability and enabling practitioners to interactively refine segmentations for improved clinical outcomes.The TIMC laboratory is located minutes away from the Grenoble University Hospital, allowing for a close and effective collaboration with clinical & industrial partners. Advanced Python programming skills (especially with Torch / Keras packages)
Good knowledge of the ITK / VTK frameworks
