Postdoc clinical and preclinical dosimetry for radionuclide therapy
Erasmus Medisch Centrum
Job descriptionJob descriptionRadionuclide therapy is an emerging treatment modality for patients with metastasized cancer. By systemically administering radiolabeled molecules designed to target cancer cells, this therapy offers a unique approach to precision oncology. Dosimetry plays a crucial role in predicting efficacy, minimizing toxicity, and optimizing existing and newly developed radionuclide therapies. We are seeking a motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team, focusing on clinical and preclinical dosimetry for radionuclide therapy. This role involves advanced and fundamental research aimed at improving treatment planning and dose-response understanding, alongside responsibilities for radiation safety protection within the department.Responsibilities:
Benefits:
Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in an international research environment. Great opportunities to develop your own research area and to publish high-impact research articles and present findings at conferences.Work environmentThe Erasmus MC stands for a healthy population and excellence in healthcare. By conducting groundbreaking work, we aim to push boundaries through leading the way in research, education and healthcare. We have a high level of expertise, and work hard to improve and renew the healthcare of today and the public health of tomorrow. We have access to the latest equipment and techniques in a state-of-the-art environment. The candidate will be positioned with a dual appointment at the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in the research teams of dr. Julie Nonnekens and dr. Mark Konijnenberg. The group of dr. Nonnekens uses a multidisciplinary approach to advance understanding of the underlying cellular mechanisms of radionuclide therapy with the aim to improve current treatment regimens or invent new ones. Research in the group ranges from preclinical, to computational and clinical studies. More information about the research activities of the lab can be found on . Dr. Konijnenberg is member of the clinical physics and technology group. Many dosimetry models have been developed at Erasmus MC and increasingly these models form a crucial element in (pre-)clinical research and clinical practice. The department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine is dedicated to high quality patient care, education, and research. Concerning research, the department is known for its forefront research and its state-of-the-art facilities. Radionuclide therapy for neuroendocrine tumors was developed in the department and the preclinical research group has successfully developed and tested various other new radiopharmaceuticals or combinatory treatments from bench to bedside.Requirements
