Job Category: VIP BJob Description:DTU, Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, the section for Manufacturing Engineering has a vacant postdoc position within the Villum Investigator project “Microstructural Engineering of Additive Manufactured Metals – MicroAM”.An aim of the project, central to this position, is to develop a state-of-the-art laboratory 3D X-ray micro-beam diffraction (Lab-3DµXRD) technique and to employ this technique to quantify the local microstructural evolution during exposure to mechanical, thermal and corrosive stimuli/loads thus laying a knowledge-based foundation for design of AM-defect tolerant microstructures. The work will be based on experimental characterization guided by advanced AM simulations. The latter being the responsibility of other participants of the MicroAM project.Responsibilities and qualifications

You will work in close collaboration with a group of senior scientists and technicians as well as Post Docs and PhDs. Also, the work will involve collaboration with selected external partners.We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in the following areas:
Experience with synchrotrons or laboratory 3D diffraction imaging is considered as a significant advantage.Excellent English communication skills are also essential.As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).We offer

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
