Offer Description

A postdoctoral position at IRCAN, Nice, France, is available for 2 years starting from January 1, 2024. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with a strong passion for science to join our lab. The successful candidates will use in vitro and in vivo approaches to investigate the molecular mechanisms of aging and the impact of depleting aged/senescent cells in different disorders. Our lab has  developed several mouse models to track and to selectively eliminate p16High senescent cells and we have already obtained numerous interesting and unexpected results which require further analysis. Our ultimate goal is to find ways for significant life extension in mice and translation of this knowledge into humans.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in the field of molecular and  cellular biology as well as immunology. The knowledge of molecular mechanisms of aging, age-related disorders (especially in the liver, lung or gut) is required.

Essential qualifications:

• MD and/or PhD by appointment start date

• At least one publication as first author in a high quality scientific publication

• Excellent organization and communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative research team

• Substantial experience in mouse handling

• Substantial experience in essential skills including westernblot, qPCR, immunostaining, ELISA and strong experience in confocal imaging

• Substantial experience in flow cytometry (analyses and cell sorting)

• Competence and prior experience in

– Mammalian cell culture and molecular cloning techniques.

– Chromatin Immunoprecipitation techniques (ChIP-qPCR; ChIP-Seq)

– RNA-seq study and analysis
