Offer DescriptionThe position will support the activities of the research project: TRANSFORMED Transforming the Mediterranean region through agroforestry: large scale restoration of degraded lands by overcoming the socioeconomic and sociocultural barriers for agroforestry adoption ( )TRANSFORMED aims to restore degraded arid land through agroforestry. The postdoc will be mainly involved in WP1, assessing the impact of the restoration actions on soil and biodiversity. The postdoc will contribute to the experimental design for data collection, in coordination with the local teams in Tunisia and/or Morocco and/or Turkye. The postdoc will supervise data collection and, when needed, contribute to the data collection. It is also expected to lead the processing of the data and to contribute to the reporting, and scientific papers development. The postdoc will also support WP4, mainly on the quality check of the socio-economic data collected, and also on data analysis. The postdoc is also expected to participate in relevant project meetings.In addition, it is expected to contribute in others projects related to agroforestry systems currently ongoing. • PhD in agroecology or similar. The degree required for this position must have been obtained by the starting date at the latest.
• Familiarity with concepts of agroforestry, land restoration, ecosystem services and biodiversity assessment
• Experience in conducting biodiversity assessments and evaluation of ecosystem services
• Experience in working in international teams and in an interdisciplinary team environment
• Skills to publish in international journals
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills

Skills in data analysisSpecific Requirements

• Availability to travel (mainly Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey)
• Interest in intercultural cooperation
• Experience in participation in international projects is an asset

• Experience in the research field (maximum 20).

Selection processThe specific committee will agree upon an award proposal and draw up a prioritized shortlist of candidates who have achieved a minimum of 70 points or declare the call for applications null and void if none of the applicants reach the minimum score.The award proposal will be published in the UB’s electronic office and must include the total scores of the candidates that have received a total of at least 70 points.Application Process:According to the specific requirements and selection criteria, the candidates are expected to provide at least the following documents:
