We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join a dynamic research group led by Principal Investigator Associate Professor Stephanie Dakin and Co-Investigator Professor Christopher Buckley. This is an opportunity to work in the Botnar Institute for Musculoskeletal Sciences, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), University of Oxford.

As a Postdoctoral Research Assistant you will become a member of a dynamic research group with responsibility for working on an exciting collaborative and translational laboratory project within the Dakin Soft Tissue Joint Disease Group. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities, managing and co-ordinating multiple projects to meet deadlines. You will test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate. The role includes adapting existing and developing new scientific techniques and experimental protocols and contributing ideas for new research projects. You will carry out collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions and research groups.

You will hold a PhD or DPhil (or near completion) in the biomedical sciences, together with relevant laboratory-based research experience. Experience of computational bioinformatic analysis including bulk & single cell RNAseq datasets, spatial transcriptomics, multiplex immunostaining of tissue sections and imaging using GE Cell Dive/ confocal microscopy / comparable technology are essential. Tissue culture experience including working with primary human cells and/or 3D organoids are also required. Previous experience of computational bioinformatics working with datasets across multiple tissue types would be desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 3 years.
