Job Description:Grade: UE07 £40,947 – £48,149 per annum, pro rata if part timeInstitute of Ecology and Evolution/School of Biological Sciences/College of Science and EngineeringFull Time: 35 hours per weekFixed Term: 24 monthsThe Opportunity:The Vale lab is advertising a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position, funded by a BBSRC grant on the genetic and immune determinants and evolutionary constraints underlying individual variation in host infectiousness.This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to flexible working patterns.Your skills and attributes for success:

• Experience and extensive knowledge of Drosophila rearing and genetics
• Knowledge and previous experience in basic microbiology protocols, including the protocols of culturing, infecting, and quantifying bacterial pathogens.
• Ability to manage and organise own time including prioritization of tasks within agreed work schedule
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build rapport with colleagues and collaborators.
• Understanding of the Health & Safety procedures, and safe lab practice.
