Job Category: AcademicJob Description:Grade UE07: £40,497 – £48,149 per annum (pro rata if part time)CMVM / Institute for Regeneration and RepairFull-time: 35 hours per weekFixed term: 3 yearsThe Opportunity:We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Research Fellow to help deliver a UKRI-funded, large-scale single cell molecular QTL discovery programme as part of the Molecular Mechanisms Cluster.This post will be based at the Pandemic Science Hub (PSH; ) at the Institute for Regeneration and Repair.We have shown that molecular quantitative trait loci (molQTL) can reveal specific molecular mediators, cell types and states underlying disease, and lead directly to new, effective therapies. The Molecular Mechanisms Cluster (MMC) will systematically study single cells from primary human tissues, across a range of perturbation states, to reveal the molecular con- sequences of disease-associated genetic variation. This cross-cutting project combines precise laboratory techniques with advanced computational modelling.The holder of this post will conduct laboratory studies using ex vivo clinical samples to help map molQTL in these disease-relevant clinical tissues.This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patternsThe salary for this post is £40,497 to £48,149 per annum.Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD in Molecular Genetics, Cell Biology or a related subject.
  • Experienced in primary tissue culture.
  • Ability to apply relevant knowledge, skills and techniques in research.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at an appropriate level to members of an interdisciplinary team.
