Application deadline: 31/07/2025Our reseach group at the Institute of Clinical Neurobiology of the University Hospital Würzburg investigates molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a PhD (or near completion) in neuroscience, molecular or cellular biology. The project will test a new therapeutic strategy for treatment of tauopathies with the aim of identifying molecular candidates for translation into the clinic. The position is available immediately and is initially funded for two years with the possibility for extension.We offer

Your Tasks

• Design and perform screening assays with neurons differentiated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
• Analyze data independently and establish innovative experimental methods
• Support general lab organization
• Present research findings

Your Profile

• Expertise in iPSC-culture and differentiation to human neurons is essential
• Hands-on experience in molecular biology assays (qPCR, FISH), immunostaining methods and microscopy is highly desirable
• Background or strong interest in translational neurodegeneration research
• A FELASA certificate for work with laboratory animals is considered a strong asset
