OFFER DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a highly motivated postdoc specialized in urban and territorial planning and socio-ecological systems, with strong knowledge and experience in geographic information systems, and programming languages such as R or Python for the analysis and visualization of spatial and alphanumeric data, and as Javascript for the development of decision support systems in the urban water cycle.The research profile of the candidates should demonstrate experience in programming knowledge and allow them to act as a bridge between the natural and social sciences, which is essential for the correct development of various projects of ICRA involving socio-ecological systems, with interactions between nature and humans systems.KEY DUTIES1) Quantification of indicators that favour the implementation of nature-based systems in urban areas.2) Leading the latest developments and validation phase of a decision support system for the selection and preliminary design of NBS for water treatment and storage.3) Leading the interaction of ICRA (and the selection tool at household scale) with a planning tool at city scale, with pilots or case studies, with economic criteria and with the tasks of Life Cycle Analysis.4) Supervising research work (Undergradaute final projects, Master final projects and doctoral PhD theses).5) Writing reports and scientific articles.6) Attract funds from competitive and transference projects.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Environmental science Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Engineering Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Geography Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsEXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSMust have – RequiredResearch Field or Field of knowledge:Environmental sciences, Engineering, Geography, Urban planning or similar.Qualifications and Education Level:PhDSkills:-Experience with programming languages R, Python and JavaScript.-Experience with spatial analysis in QGIS.-Experience with nature-based solutions and socioecological systems.-Experience developing decision support systems and modelling.-Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.-The candidate selected must be creative, flexible, and eager to learn and to expand her/his scientific work.Required Languages:A high level of English is required.
