Offer DescriptionApplications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full time, fixed-term position as Postdoctoral Researcher-Atmospheric Scientist, to undertake measurements of Greenhouse Gases and Air Pollution at C-CAPS, Ryan Institute at the University of Galway, Ireland..This position is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency and is available from July 12th, 2025 to contract end date of 31/12/2028The measurement program implemented under the AC3 Network comprises predominantly in-situ Atmospheric Composition and Climate Change observations, bringing together observations of Greenhouse Gases and Air Pollution, contributing to ICOS – Integrated Carbon Observation System, and TXB- Transboundary Air Pollution and Short-lived Climate Forcers into an integrated air science observing system.SalaryPostdoctoral Researcher salary scale €45,847 – €58,479 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.The default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale. This may be reviewed, and consideration afforded to appointment at a higher point on the pay-scale (subject to the project’s funding limitations), where evidence of prior years’ equivalent experience is accepted in determining placement on the scale above point 1, subject to the maximum of the scaleClosing date for receipt of applications is 17:00 (Irish Time) on June 6th, 2025.
