We’re looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Pre-Award Development Officer to join our dynamic Grants and Contracts Team at Northumbria University.In this pivotal role, you’ll be the go-to expert for researchers across a defined portfolio, guiding them through the development and submission of high-quality research funding proposals. You’ll provide expert advice on funder requirements, ensure compliance with internal and external policies, and collaborate with academic and professional services colleagues to deliver a seamless pre-award service.You’ll also lead on costing proposals, managing complex bid submissions, and supporting the onboarding of grant transfers. With opportunities to contribute to training, internal process improvements, and line management of Pre-Award Coordinators, this is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of research development operations.Further information is available in the .ABOUT THE TEAMThe Pre-Award Team plays a significant role in supporting the development and submission of high-quality research proposals. We work closely with academic staff, researchers, and external partners to provide expert guidance on funding opportunities, application processes, and compliance requirements. Our team ensures that all proposals meet internal and external standards, helping to maximise our chances of securing funding.We are a collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive team that thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced research environment. Our work spans a wide range of disciplines and funders, from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to international agencies and industry partners.
