VHIR offers vacant position for a Bioinformatics Researcher within the Rheumatology Research Group. Under the supervision of Dr Antonio Julià, the candidate will develop their doctoral studies in the translational research of Immune-Mediated Inflammatory Diseases. The group has a longstanding and internationally recognized experience in translational research using cutting-edge technologies for this group of prevalent diseases.Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution, located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes and develops innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall d’Hebron.Education and qualifications:Required:

• Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or related fields
• Good academic record
• Master’s degree required for admission to the doctoral program

Experience and knowledge:Required:

• Knowledge on current Bioinformatics techniques and computing in R and Python
• Fluency in English

Desired:

• Valuable: Experience in single cell transcriptomics and/or immune related diseases

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Develop a PhD focused on translational research in rheumatological diseases using different omic approaches
• Analysis design, implementation and reporting
• Manuscript and grant writing

Labour conditions:

• Full-Time position (40 hours per week)
• Gross Annual Salary: 20,600€ and increasing yearly up to 26,900€ (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
• Starting date: Immediate
• Duration: 4 years
• Contract: Predoctoral
