Your responsibilitiesThe Principal Product Engineer is positioned in a central role for the development of new products. The role requires frequent interaction with other disciplines, such as IC Design, Test Engineering, IC Validation, Front-End Innovation, Package Innovation, Quality and Industrial Operations. In addition, this role is extended to include responsibility for the project management of small industrial enablement/innovation projects.The responsibilities include:

  • Co-develop manufacturing and test flows, ensure industrial producibility
  • Test program release for different milestones during NPI
  • IC characterization according to AEC-Q003 from strategy to report
  • ATE data pre-assessment and review with designers and architects
  • Reliability qualification according AEC-Q100 from strategy to report
  • Ensure compliance with product datasheet and functional safety requirements
  • Safe launch and volume ramp-up including elimination of test stages
  • Ensure that DfX methods are introduced in the design of new products
  • Drive and own small industrial enablement/innovation projects, incl a project team composed by test and product engineers mainly and close interactions with project, management and R&D teams.
  • Supporting or leading dedicated project gates, ensure with BL/PLs that project resources are available, manage and own budget of the enablement project
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate with NXP internal and external partners to achieve goals, this can include customer interactions

Your teamBusiness line RF processing is leading in mixed signal processors for car infotainment, personal health and car radar applications. We lead the industry in state of the art solutions, using advanced CMOS technologies. You will be working in an international Product Engineering team with close connections to other disciplines and manufacturing sites. At BL RFP, Product Engineering is involved in new product introduction projects from the very beginning, having strong focus on the bring-up phase until product release. In addition, Product Engineering also supports safe-launch and volume ramp-up.Your profileThe role requires deep core competences in execution, concepts and technical leadership in Product Engineering. In addition, the Principal Product Engineer needs to act as catalyst for neighboring competences, such as IC Design, Test Engineering and IC Validation. Strong communication skills, sense of ownership, curiosity beyond boundaries, team oriented but able to work independently are personal characteristics key to success in this role.You have:

  • MsC/PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

5 years of experience in semiconductor Product or Test Engineering, Design, Validation or similar * Understanding of RF IC design and ATE testing

  • Knowledge and experience with IC characterization (AEC-Q003)
  • Knowledge and experience with reliability qualification (AEC-Q100)
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with complex data analytics and statistics
  • Skills in programming languages like Python, R, C++
  • Understanding of RADAR/mmWave ICs and test solutions is a plus
  • Understanding of semiconductor assembly and package technology is a plus
  • Skills in data science, e.g., machine learning, is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate efficiently, influence and coordinate internal and external interfaces
  • Project Management (PM) expertise
  • Clear ambition and capability to grow beyond the described role
  • Multitasking capabilities are essential
