For the Central Team of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C), we are looking for a Principal Risk Engineer to join our Risk Engineering & Loss Prevention team. This role includes structuring effective risk management solutions and supporting global and local teams with technical expertise. You will drive data to ensure the high quality of all risk engineering activities and you will enhance, deliver on global risk engineering projects. Additionally, this role includes driving high quality of output relating to risk engineering services and providing best-in-class risk engineering services for both internal and external clients.Main responsibilities:Provide global support for countries related to technical skills

• Developing a holistic and technical approach to risk management for a specific line of business relating to the technical skills of the candidate
• Provide risk engineering support and reports for GC&C purposes globally
• Defining and managing processes to support the business needs
• Assist countries with their local initiatives and projects

Drive and contribute to the global risk engineering and loss prevention value proposition

• Identifying business opportunities as well as new and emerging risks, structuring effective risk management solutions
• Defining, implementing and pushing the risk engineering value proposition
• Evaluating and balancing services to ensure they are flexible and cost-effective
• Create loss lessons, risk topics and other marketing initiatives

Collaboration with key stakeholders

• Work closely with global and country stakeholders to foster collaboration and successful outcomes
• Work closely with Central Team risk engineering colleagues to build and enhance overall global value proposition
• Assist the country risk engineering heads to develop and build value proposition for their country but follows the group intent
• Provide country risk engineers and managers with technical advice and expertise

Operational support

• Contribute and own global risk engineering projects
• Track global KPI’s and improve over time
• Ensure global data quality and data tracking meet global expectation
• Provide monthly management report to the Global Head of Risk Engineering

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• University degree in Engineering / Risk Management related discipline
• Strong technical experience in at least one of the following areas: Marine, Casualty, Energy, Construction / Engineering
• At least 10 years previous risk engineering related experience
• Strong Insurance business knowledge
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to foster lasting relationships
• Ability to work across different functions and to support different geographies
• Ability to set and execute strategies in a limited timeframe
• Influencing, negotiating and engaging skills
• Analytical and organizational skills
• Skills in using and suggesting innovative and efficient ways of working
• Strong attention to detail and high standards across report writing & services
• Must be fluent in English, additional languages are an advantage (Italian is a plus)
