From the west coast of Australia to the east coast of the U.S., from Europe to South Africa, and from mines to research and development labs, we bring the same passion to work in every location, everywhere, every day.About the RoleIn this role you will report to the Process Safety Lead and will be responsible for the management and control of major accident hazards and risk to the site, compliance with company standards and legislative requirements whilst displaying the company values to drive continuous improvement in process safety systems, processes and culture.
The successful candidate will be a Chemical Engineer with experience in the Process Safety field and will work alongside a team of well experienced Process Safety Engineers supporting the Stallingborough site.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of internal process safety policies and procedures to meet the COMAH regulations requirements and site PSM program.
  • Provide leadership and technical assistance on process safety issues and act as the local expert for process safety activities.
  • Support the update and revision of the Site COMAH safety report.
  • Lead / participate in HazOps and PHRs
  • Coordinate other process safety risk assessments for the site including LOPAs, SIL, DSEAR, OBRA etc.
  • Undertake assigned action arising from process safety risk assessments.
  • Lead / support HSE process safety interventions.
  • Establish an effective management system for process safety tasks, assuring process safety documents are maintained and continually improved.
  • Maintain and audit the site Management of Change system.
  • Maintain and audit the site Management of Organisational Change system.
  • Coordinate activities related to the assessment, mitigation and the completion and maintenance of process safety including Hazard Studies/HAZOP/ ALARP/CDOIF.
  • Prepare Engineering specifications for Process Safety expenditure.
  • Work alongside Environmental Team to deliver safety and environmental risk and impact assessments in support of COMAH and Environmental Permitting.
  • Work alongside the Emergency Response Team to deliver the Emergency Response Plans and incident controller training.
  • Maintain and participate in the site PSM auditing program.
  • Undertake regular SHE inspections to verify staff and contractors are working safely.
  • Lead process safety incident investigations using recognised investigation techniques.
  • Collate and publish Site process safety key performance indicators.
  • Support the delivery of the site relief valve revalidation programme.
  • Site representative for external bodies such as industry groups.
  • Knowledge, understanding and application of human factors methodologies to allow compliance to the HSE Human Factors road-map
  • Undertake PHAST modelling

About You
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of working within Process Safety within a COMAH environment
  • Chartered Chemical Engineer or working towards gaining chartership
  • Process Safety Qualification e.g., NEBOSH Certificate, MSc.
  • Hazard Study Lead.
  • Ability to plan, organise, communicate effectively, analyse complex situations and think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills, networker & communicator. Willing to help, support and share knowledge to train others
  • Demonstrable track record in Process Safety, an excellent team player with a proactive and positive attitude and confident in liaising with colleagues, industrial clients and regulators
