A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Procurement Partner, within the recently restructured Finance Department, at the University of South Wales. As one of the largest higher

education providers in Wales, the University provides an ideal setting for individuals to develop their careers, nurture their talent and make a difference.

Based at Pontypridd, but with remote working also possible, this role will provide you with an opportunity to utilise and further refine your procurement, stakeholder engagement and category strategy skills and abilities, collaborating with both stakeholders and suppliers to create value for money for USW, our students, our partners and the wider community.

Specifically, this role will be a Procurement Partner to the IT Services, Learning Services and Student Services departments where a collaborative approach with all sourcing activities and supplier engagements will create cost savings, generate added value via the supply chain; where all market place risks and opportunities are identified, explored and managed through the development of robust

category strategies.

We are looking for a credible and professional MCIPS Qualified candidate, with solid experience of business partnering, strong influencing and negotiation skills and excellent commercial

acumen and contract management ability, who can proactively build a network (both internally and externally), so sector wide collaborative procurement opportunities can be explored and

delivered. Knowledge and experience of HE/ public sector procurement is desirable but not essential, whilst credible, demonstrable procurement ability and experience in IT is essential.
