Now, we’re looking for a Product Costing Accountant to join us on this journey and contribute to the success of our regional operations.This is what your fresh start as Product Costing Accountant will look like:As a Product Costing Accountant, you will ensure the integrity of financial data across purchasing, inventory, and selling processes for Perfetti Van Melle Europe. You will oversee general ledger accuracy for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), inventory, and logistics accounts, while monitoring variances and reconciling discrepancies. Collaborating closely with the Junior Product Cost Analyst and Senior Financial Controller, your work will form the foundation for financial insights, rolling forecasts, and compliance reporting.This role reports directly to the Product Cost Analyst and is part of our European Finance team. You will work with data from more than 14 countries and over 6.000 SKU’s, playing a vital role in ensuring seamless integration between operational cost management and financial control.Your core tasks in a nutshell:

• Ensure Financial Integrity: Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts for COGS, inventory valuation, and logistics costs. Validate invoices for freight, duties, handling, and subcontracting, ensuring alignment with budgets and accruals.
• Perform Variance Analysis: Analyze discrepancies in material costs, logistics expenses, and inventory movements, providing critical insights for rolling forecasts and financial reporting.
• Manage Material Ledger: Oversee the Material Ledger to ensure accurate inventory valuation and actual costing in multiple currencies. Reconcile variances and execute period-end closing activities, ensuring compliance with valuation methods and corporate financial policies. Resolve financial variances with the Junior Product Costing Analyst.
• Collaborate for Success: Partner with the Product Cost Analyst and Junior Product Cost Analyst to support cost price management, variance resolution, and strategic financial reporting. Act as a back-up for product cost calculation, to ensure business continuance.
• Resolve Logistic Variance Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve mismatches between accrued and invoiced logistics costs, supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.

The ideal recipe for our Junior Product Costing Analyst:We may not have to tell you that you are the best with numbers and loving the complexity of it (but we do it to be sure!). These are, in our opinion, the ideal ingredients to make this role a success:

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Economics;
• 5 years experience in Financial Controlling (Accounting) is required;
• Fluent in English;
• Experience with SAP is required, S4/HANA is a plus;
• Experience with Material Ledger in SAP is a plus;
• Experience as a cost analyst, cost specialist or similar role is a plus;
• Relevant knowledge of Dutch labor legislation;
• Experience in data, operational and financial analysis;
• Business Intelligence experience (i.e. MS Excel, Power BI, Power Query);
• Ideally, knowledge of accounting processes related to supply chain and corporate ERP (SAP);
• Furthermore you have a business-oriented mindset, which means you support the business financial growth and cost control;
• You have a clear understanding of the roles involved in product costing and proactively reach out for info gathering and follow up on projects.
