Offer DescriptionThe National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of:Profesor
at Theoretical Physics Division nr ref.: BP2_394Localization: Pasteura 7, 02-093 WarsawDescription of tasks:

• EFixed-target experiments at CERN: COMPASS and AMBER.
• Completion of data analysis for the COMPASS experiment using the full collected statistics.
• Participation in the AMBER experiment, in particular the measurement of the proton radius (PhD student role).
• Electron-Ion Collider at Brookhaven (USA).
• Analysis of gluon polarization measurements at the EIC collider.
• Application of neural networks to signal and background analysis.
• Semi-inclusive data analysis of experimental results.
• Investigation of spin sum rules.
• Application of neural networks (AI) in high-energy physics data analysis.
• Evaluation of various types of neural networks for the recognition of experimental signals.

Requirements for the candidate:

• Academic title of professor
• Experience in data analysis from fixed-target and collider experiments.
• Proven background in experimental high-energy physics data analysis, with a focus on the spin structure of the nucleon and testing Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) predictions.
• Experience in managing research projects or leading a scientific team.
